A Thank You
The release of ScreenRest would not be complete without thanking those who gave their time, effort and support to help us get to this point.
Inspirations for ScreenRest
Alison Dawson
Back in 2003, Alison provided the original inspiration for what became ScreenRest 1.0. That version has based on her requirement for regular break and exercise reminders, and my requirement to help reduce computer monitor eyestrain. Alison was the first user, back before it was actually a product for sale. I should have listened to her suggestion then, to release ScreenRest as a product.
Andrew Butters
Andrew was perhaps the most significant catalyst for my move from a full-time employee to running my own business. In 2005, Andrew introduced me to the shareware development articles by Steve Pavlina on dexterity.com that were a pivotal inspiration to revisit ScreenRest and turn it into a full commercial product. He went on to direct me towards a great many software and business related resources.
Since then Andrew has been very supportive of the creation of ScreenRest, including suggesting the product name when I discovered the domain name of the original had already been taken. In addition to beta testing, prior to release, Andrew also proofread all of our documentation and web site content.
Beta Testers
We were very fortunate that a number of friends and colleagues volunteered to take part in the ScreenRest beta test phase. They included professional testers and technical authors, which certainly helped increase the level of polish applied to the product.
